Sindh budget 15-16: Province observes half-day strike on MQM's call

KARACHI/HYDERABAD  (92 News) – Business activities remained suspended while transporters kept their vehicles off the roads on call to strike by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Sunday in different parts of Sindh. Roads wore a deserted look as MQM had appealed traders and transporters yesterday to suspend their activities against ‘anti-Sindh budget’. Most of the trading centres, shops, petrol pumps were closed besides hotels and bakeries which open early morning were also closed. However, later on Saturday night the MQM’s Rabita Committee appealed public to keep observe strike till 1pm and resume their activities after the specified time. karachi-strike1-500x277 The MQM Rabita Committee’s meeting, while terming the budget as ‘hateful, biased and anti-urban Sindh’, called for a shutter-down strike on Sunday.
