KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has assured to improve the local bodies law, saying that the Local Bodies Act was presented after being distorted.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that the opposition was not interested in the law, but hooliganism. "The opposition has decried 'thief, thief' instead of participating in the legislation," he maintained.

He said that he had met the governor over the illegal construction, but discussed no law. "The Sindh government wants to hold the local bodies election in March. The petrol price is decreasing across the world. The federal government is forcibly bringing out money from the pockets of the poor," he maintained.

The Sindh chief minister alleged that the federal cabinet had increased the margin of the dealers on the request of one of prime minister's friends who owns a petrol pump.

He said that the Sindh government had declared the house of Siraj Durrani as sub-jail as per law.
