Sindh chief minister visits rain-hit areas in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday has visited different rain-hit areas in Karachi and directed to speed up water drainage system. Mura Ali Shah has directed commissioner Karachi to take steps on war footing basis to evacuate people stranded in water due to overflowing of Malir river and Sikhan nullah after heavy rains in Karachi. During the visit, the CM has ordered the Karachi commissioner to help those stranded in their houses in Madina Town, Yar Muhammad Goth, Malir and Sukkur Nullah due to rainwater and provide them with food and other things. On the other hand, the torrential rains in Sindh including Karachi have inundated low-lying areas, creating trouble for the locals. The Lath and Thado dams have overflowed in Kirthar regions after heavy rains in Karachi, Pakistan Army teams have reached to help the civilians. “People in Madina Town and Yar Muhammad Goth are still trapped”, CM Murad Ali Shah was informed. On the occasion, the provincial chief executive directed the commissioner Karachi to immediately rescue the stranded people and provided them food and water. Later, he visited Marvi Goth and met with the masses.
