KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday in relation to the Roshan Sindh programme corruption probe. The anti-graft watchdog body had said that security arrangements for the chief minister’s visit had been made to ensure nothing untoward situation. NAB officials had earlier shared that they had recovered Rs298 million in the Sindh Roshan programme case. The bureau has said in the past that some of the accused, Abdul Sattar Qureshi, Abdul Rashid Chana, Aslam Pervaiz Memon and Baldev have agreed to take a plea bargain. Earlier on Wednesday evening, Murad Ali Shah arrived in Islamabad for the hearing. The bureau had also summoned Murad a few months back in the same investigation but he did not appear. The NAB Rawalpindi on Wednesday summoned Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah in fake bank accounts and solar light project cases. The anti-graft watchdog summoned the chief minister in third time in Rawalpindi office. He had appeared before the NAB one time earlier. According to the sources, the chief minister was instructed to turn up before its joint investigation team tomorrow at 11am. The sources also said that he will be interrogated into a case pertaining to the multi-billion fake bank accounts scam and alleged embezzlement in a solar light project. He has been accused of illegally awarding contracts for purchase and distribution of solar lights in Sindh.
