Sindh CM decides to appear before NAB on Mar 25
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah has decided to appear before the National Accountability (NAB) on March 25 (Monday) instead of March 26 on Sunday.
According to the sources, the CM has decided to appear before the anti-corruption watchdog’s investigators on Monday in connection with an ongoing probe into fake bank accounts case.
It was reported that Director General Irfan Manghi will record Murad’s statement on Monday at old headquarters. The Sindh chief minister will also be handed over a questionnaire. However, the DG NAB Manghi has contacted the district administration and sought additional security measures at the NAB office.
Meanwhile, the anti-graft watchdog recorded the statement of the Sindh Bank officials in the fake bank accounts case and the Omni Group transactions details also be obtained by the NAB. The report regarding the money laundering expected to be submitted in the apex court.
On March 21, the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) Rawalpindi chapter had summoned Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah to appear before it on March 26, in a case related to awarding subsidy of billions of rupees to OMNI group sugar mills in Sindh’s Thatta and Dadu.
The accountability bureau has further directed the chief minister to bring along all records pertaining to the Sakrand, Khoski, Pangrio and Thatta Sugar Mills.
Asif Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto record statements before NAB
on Mar 20, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto and co-chairman Asif Zardari recorded their statements before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the mega money laundering case.
A five-member team interrogated Bilawal Bhutto, while Asif Zardari was investigated by 11-member team for one hour. Both were given a 20-question questionnaire each and asked to submit the reply till March 30.
Bilawal Bhutto expressed his dissociation from the fake accounts case. “It is beyond understanding why I have been included in the case. I have never done corruption. The NAB should keep the facts in mind. I hope the NAB will not summon me again,” he said.
About the Park Lane case, he said that he was very young when the company was formed.
He requested to submit the written replies to some questions.
In his statement, Asif Zardari said that the Park Lane Company matter is 28-year-old and remember it a little. The audio and video statement was recorded.
