Sindh CM demands to summon CCI meeting amid gas issue

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday has demanded to call the meeting of Council of Common Interest (CCI) on the issue of gas shortage in Sindh. Addressing to the provincial assembly, the chief minister expressed optimism and said that the federal government would give the province its rights as per the law and constitution. He also asserted that he would write to the federal government to summon the meeting at the earliest. He mentioned that there are three members in CCI from Sindh belonging to three different parties. “We expect that these members will favour this cause as their own to have the issue resolved,” he hoped. Murad Ali Shah commented that the problems of provinces cannot be solved without active interest of the federal government. “Our government is not acceptable for some people,” he added. However, the chief minister thanked the members of the treasury and opposition for unanimous vote on the resolution. Talking on Thar Coal, he said the test for power generation will begin in February and the power supply will also begin in the same month. In previous week, the tussle between PPP and PTI was on peak, meanwhile the PTI, the PPP lawmakers launch tirade after demand for Sindh CM’s resignation. PTI lawmaker Khurram Sher Zaman has held Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah responsible for all problems. Khurram Sher Zaman demanded that Murad Ali Shah should resign. “It is responsibility of the PTI to raise voice over the public issues,” he said. He said that the PTI would not allow them to work if they adopted the same attitude. Reacting to the statement of Khurram Sher Zaman, Sindh Adviser on Information Murtaza Wahab said that the PTI is in habit of taking U-turns. “Why does the PTI worried by Murad Ali Shah?” he queried. Earlier, the NAB has summoned Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Jan 4.
