Sindh CM extends Rangers’ powers for 90 days

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has extended the powers of the Rangers for more 90 days. After the summary’s approval by the Sindh CM, the Home Ministry has written a letter to the Interior Ministry in this regard. Under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, the paramilitary force have been conferred with powers to independently act against criminals and suspected terrorists within Karachi division. The period of special powers given to Rangers will expire midnight on Wednesday.
