KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh Chief Minister on orders of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Asif Zardari extended Rangers' special powers of policing in Karachi for an year to assist police and civil administration in the city.
According to Sindh CM House Spokesperson, the extension has been granted by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah under Article 147 of the Constitution.
The order in this regard was given by party chief Asif Zardari on Thursday during an iftar dinner at Dubai. The Interior Ministry after the Sindh CM's recommendation approved it; the decision will be applicable from July 20th.
