Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah objects to IRSA's method of water distribution

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has objected to the method of the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) for the distribution of water. Speaking in the Sindh Assembly on Wednesday, he said that the federal government is meting out injustice to Sindh in each matter. The CM said that the IRSA method is not justified. “What will you do by constructing the dams if there is no water in them?. What will you fill in the dams?” he questioned. He said that Sindh is ‘Babul Islam’ and Islam spread through Islam. “The Sindh Assembly had approved the Pakistan resolution first of all. All temporary issues will end. The future is to Bilawal Bhutto and the PPP,” he said. The chief minister claimed that the PPP will form the federal government as well. He said that Karachi had been mentioned separately in the Indus Water Treaty. “It is strange that the Council of Common Interests (CCI) has three Sindh-based members who were nominated by Prime Minister Imran Khan. These members have opposed the water supply to Karachi,” he maintained. He said that the federal minister had recommended to send the Karachi’s water issue to the Water Council. Talking to the media outside Sindh Assembly, Senior Provincial Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the opposition had always been trying to point out incompetence of the government. “Some people will distance themselves from the government in a few days. They are in contact with us,” he said. The minister said that the real workers of the PTI had been sidelined.
