Sindh CM visits different areas in Karachi to review cleanliness drive

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Sunday reviewed ongoing cleanliness drive by visiting different areas of Karachi on Sunday. On the weekly off, the Sindh CM spent many hours to inspect garbage situation in the metropolis. He expressed anger over presence of garbage in the different areas. The citizens complained the chief minster regarding cleanliness drive. The chief minister visited Manghopir road to inspect garbage transfer station (GTS) in front of a college there. He expressed severe outrage over the concerned authorities to establish a GTS before the college building. He was apprised that the college is closed for a long time ago. CM Shah took notice of the closure of the college and sought a report from the provincial colleges’ secretary. The Sindh CM visited another garbage transfer station established in Mominabad area and directed the concerned authorities to clear the GTS at earliest. When the chief minister arrived at the Korangi Crossing, he met with the fruit sellers and directed them not to throw the garbage on the road. He inspects drainage in Zaman Town and expressed anger over Nala Chowk. He also paid a visit to Orangi Town where he was welcomed by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) activists. On the occasion, the chief minister vowed to initiate development work in the area. Speaking to the journalists, Murad Ali Shah said that the main cause for the increasing in street crime is the bad economy condition of the country. He also said that utilizing all the provincial resources, will improve the condition of the roads. Earlier, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi said that the cleanliness drive in Karachi is underway with full swing in the city and five big and six small drains are being cleaned. Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said twenty teams are engaged in the campaign and in the first phase, they have lifted forty seven thousand metric ton garbage from the drainage in twenty days.
