Sindh CM visits route of main Ashura procession, reviews security arrangements

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has on Sunday said that stringent security arrangements have been made in the metropolitan on the occasion of Yaum-e-Ashur, the tenth of Muharram. Talking to media after visiting MA Jinnah Road to review the security arrangements, he said that foolproof arrangements have been placed for the security of the main mourning procession. Murad Ali Shah said that 27,000 foreign national have arrived in Karachi following the visit of the head of the Bohra community Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin to the city. The Sindh CM said that around 60,000 people on daily basis have visited city’s Sadar area due to which rigorous security arrangements had to be made. The security measures have been put in place due to the persisting threats, he said. On the other hand, the Sindh chief minister also visited the Command and Control Centre established at the CM House in Karachi. Provincial Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal and IG Sindh AD Khawaja also accompanied him. Murad Ali Shah was briefed about the route of the procession and its security arrangements. Meanwhile, Rangers spokesperson has said that strict security arrangements are in place for the procession of Ashura. He said that aerial monitoring of the procession is also being done besides monitoring through CCTV cameras.
