Sindh ex-governor’s brother Amirul Ebad arrested in bounced cheque case

KARACHI (92 News) – The police have arrested Amirul Ebad, brother of Sindh former governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, in a bounced cheque case on Friday. The City Court police had registered a case (19/43) against him under section 489 of the Pakistan Penal Code. According to the police, Tariq Niazi, a lawyer, had registered a case against him after a cheque worth Rs four million was bounced. His wife said that Amirul Ebad was granted bail in the case on Thursday, but the police arrested him. She said that the police had shifted him to Shahra-e-Faisal. He is likely to be presented in a local court today.
