Sindh government extends Rangers’ special powers for more four months under ATA

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh government has extended the special powers of Rangers for four months under the Anti-Terrorism Act on Saturday. Under the special powers, Rangers can conduct raids in heinous crimes and arrest and investigate the accused. The special powers were expiring on Saturday night. Extending the special powers, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that the Rangers would continue with the same passion. Sources said that the Sindh Assembly will endorse the Rangers’ special powers. The Rangers were granted the special powers after the launch of the Karachi operation in September 2013.
