Sindh govt announces to continue coronavirus restrictions

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh government has announced to uphold the coronavirus restrictions due to an increase in the cases across the province.

Talking to the media after a meeting of the Sindh Taskforce on Thursday, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that it was difficult to ease the restrictions.

"Another meeting will be held on May 22 and restrictions will be toughened if the cases increased," he added.

The Sindh chief minister said that 1,232 cases were reported in the province on Eid day and 2,076 cases were reported after Eid on May 19.

Through a notification issued on May 17, the Sindh government had closed all restaurants, hotels, food streets and outdoor dining. However, bakeries and milk shops can be opened till 12.
