Sindh govt announces to set up 10,000 bed quarantine centers

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh government announced to set up 10,000 bed isolated quarantine centers across the province. Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah said that 10,000 bed quarantine centers will be build over the current global coronavirus pandemic. He also said that the decision was being taken as a proactive measure against the dangerous pathogen. The Sindh Chief Minister revealed that he visited the city of Sukkur yesterday and ordered spraying of disinfectants in various parts of the city. He further said that the local bodies minister has been tasked to expand the proximity of disinfecting activity and to spread it into smaller cities as well. It is pertinent to mention here that a field isolation center is also being set up in the district of Tando Allah Yar’s local hospital. Earlier, authorities in Sindh reported 437 coronavirus cases of local transmission among members of the Tableeghi Jamaat in Sindh. Sindh Adviser to Chief Minister Barrister Murtaza Wahab has confirmed the reports regarding 437 Tableeghi Jammat members coronavirus test positive. He also said that the samples of almost 2,500 Tableeghi Jammat members were taken. The adviser further stated that 437 cases of COVID-19 has been confirmed out of 2,5000 among the Jamaat members today. He said that total persons belonging to the Tableeghi Jamaat were also kept under quarantine facility. On the other hand, the Sindh government announced a complete lockdown in Sindh scheduled from 12-3pm to limit Friday congregations. The decision to impose the Friday afternoon lockdown was made after consultation with Ulema. It is pertinent to mention here that all kinds of business activities would also remain suspended during the 12-3pm time period.
