March 27, 2019
KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh government has approved introduction of new uniforms for the province’s police force on the recommendation of Inspector General Kaleem Imam. The new uniform will initially be introduced in five units of the police department, including Traffic Police, CIA, Anti-riots Reserve Platoons, Forensic Division and Central Police Office. The prime reason behind the change is to enhance the policing process and to bring it up to international standards, the IG said, adding that he hopes the citizens will welcome and appreciate the step. Maqsood Ahmed, DIG Operations, said that the new uniform is designed in accordance with the latest international standards, local weather conditions and improved quality. Sindh Police will be the sole provider of the new police uniforms to ensure the quality of fabric, colour and stitching, DIG Maqsood said. He further said that the local suppliers and vendors will not be allowed to display the new uniform in their outlets.
