Sindh govt decides a three-day lockdown of Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh government has decided to clamp a three-day lockdown of Karachi. Addressing a press conference after the 23rd meeting of the Coronavirus Task Force on Friday, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that it had become mandatory for the people to stay at home to protect themselves against coronavirus. “The real concern is the increasing cases of local transmission,” he added. He directed the people to stay at home for three days – Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The meeting was briefed about the people affected by coronavirus. The chief minister said that three patients – two from Karachi and one from Hyderabad – have been recovered. Moreover, the Sindh government has appealed to the federal government not to charge gas and electricity bills for two months. Sindh Minister for Agriculture Ismail Rahoo said that the people should restrict themselves to their homes as all businesses are closed. He said that the people should be provided a relief.
