KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh government has decided to send IGP Kaleem Imam on leave for replacing him with another top officer. Talking to the media on Thursday, Saeed Ghani said that Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah’s discussion over the issue with Prime Minister Imran Khan had turned out to be meaningless. “All proceedings are as per law. Firdous Shamim has wrongly termed the decision one-sided,” he said. He said that no one raises the question if the decision is taken by Usman Buzdar. Meanwhile, the Sindh government has sent the names of Mushtaq Mehr, Ghulam Qadir Thebo and Kamran Afzal to the federal government for the slot. Earlier on Wednesday, the Sindh government had recommended the removal of IGP Kaleem Imam. The approval to remove the incumbent IGP came during an urgent meeting of the provincial cabinet, which was presided over by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. The cabinet members raised their reservations over the political affiliations of the current IG during the meeting. Most of the cabinet members have suggested the name of Ghulam Qadir Thebo. In Sept 2018, Dr Syed Kaleem Imam was appointed as the inspector general of Sindh police (PSP, BS-21).
