Sindh govt held responsible for wheat crisis

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The federal government has held the Sindh government responsible for the wheat crisis in the country. Addressing a press conference on Monday, Information Minister Shibli Faraz said that the Sindh government had been involved in the profiteering and is striving to create an artificial shortage in the country. He said that coronavirus could not cause major losses as compared to the world due to the best strategy of the government. The minister said that wheat production cost had increased manifold and the middleman is getting the main benefit. Fakhar Imam said that smuggling and profiteering are responsible for the wheat crisis. "I have not heard that flour is being sold at Rs 70 per kg," he said. He said that it is responsibility of the provincial governments to nab the profiteering. "The government apprehended and fined some profiteers. The government has controlled smuggling to a large extent," he added.
