Sindh govt to keep educational institutions open despite 35% Covid-19 positivity rate

KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh government has decided to keep the educational institutions open despite an increase of up to 35 percent in the Covid-19 positivit rate.

The decision was made during a meeting of the Sindh Corona Task Force on Saturday. The forum also made it mandatory to wear masks at public places. The officers not wearing masks in government offices will be fined. It was proposed to deduct one-day salary of the government employees not wearing masks. A ban has been imposed on the entry of the people not getting vaccination in markets.

The force also ordered to provide meal in boxes during wedding ceremonies. A survey of all public and private hospitals will be conducted to assess their capacity. Wearing of masks has also been made mandatory in all marriage halls, markets and public places.

The meeting also decided to expedite the vaccination campaign across the province.

Addressing the meeting, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the present wave of corona will be controlled if the people extend cooperation. He said that the increase in corona cases is the result of not adopting precautionary measures.

He said that strict action will be taken against the people violating the Corona SOPs.
