Sindh High Court rejects plea seeking disqualification of CM Murad Ali Shah
KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh High Court on Tuesday rejected a petition seeking disqualification of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, declaring it not maintainable.
The petition was filed by Haleem Adil Sheikh, Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly. A two-member bench headed by the Chief Justice had reserved the judgment on the disqualification the petition. The court gave a brief verdict and rejected the petition.
Haleem Adil Sheikh had said, in the petition, that Murad Ali Shah had concealed his US citizenship before the Election Commission and submitted a false affidavit. Therefore, he is not an honest person and should be declared permanently ineligible under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
