Sindh High Court withdraws ban on TikTok
KARACHI (92 News) – The Sindh High Court (SHC) withdrew the ban on TikTok on Friday.
The court also ordered the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to dispose the petitions with regard to TikTok.
The court ordered the PTA to decide on the complainant's plea by July 5.
On the order of the SHC, the PTA had shut TikTok on June 30. The PTA had requested the court to withdraw the stay order.
In a tweet, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhary said that it is a matter of pleasure that the SHC had withdrawn the ban on TikTok. "A battle of technology is going on across the world. Companies are launching propaganda against each other. Our regulatory institution and judges should keep themselves aloof from the scuffle. We welcome everyone investing in the country," he added.
