KARACHI (92 News) - The Sindh government presented the Rs1,713 billion budget for fiscal year 2022-23 amid rumpus.

According to the budget, a 15 percent adhoc relief allowance has been announced in the salaries of the government employees while pensions have been raised by five percent.

The government has announced up to 33 percent disparity allowance for the government allowance. In the tax-free budget, an amount of Rs332 billion has been allocated for the development programmes.

A sum of Rs326 billion has been reserved for education, Rs200 billion for health and Rs132 billion for the law and order. Moreover, it has also been proposed to purchase 250 buses for Karachi and the BRT project for Hyderabad.

During the budget speech, the opposition members raised a hue and cry and gathered around the dais of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. They were carrying placards and chanting slogans against the government.

However, Syed Murad Ali Shah continued the budget speech through headphones. He said that the opposition's conspiracy will fail. "All people of the opposition have left and remaining will also leave," he added.
