Sindh Rangers raid MQM Headquarters Nine Zero in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – Sindh Rangers conducted a raided at Muttahida Qaumi Movement headquarters Nine Zero, in Karachi's Azizabad and detained three persons including MQM Coordination Committee member Qamar Mansoor in the early hours of Friday. A heavy contingent of paramilitary forces entered the Nine-Zero office and Khusheed Begum Memorial Hall after cordoning of the surrounding areas. Workers and supporters of the MQM gathered at the Nine-Zero soon after the Rangers had left the area. Rangers also arrested MQM Coordination Committee member Kaiful Wara, while Azeem Farooqui and Sufian Yousuf were released after a brief interrogation. The law-enforcement agencies seized cash and documents from the office of Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) – MQM’s charity wing. Director General Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar said that those detained from Nine Zero “have been arranging and facilitating hate speeches against peace of Karachi”. Meanwhile, Rangers spokesman said that Kaiful Wara and Qamar Mansoor were arrested during the surgical raid. He said that the operation will further be accelerated and those working against the peace of the city will be arrested. The paramilitary force also searched the house of MQM leader Haider Abbas Rizvi and seized important documents. On the other hand, law enforcement agencies detained two MQM workers including Joint Sector In Charge Shujaud Din in Malir. The detained MQM workers were shifted to an unknown place.
