Sindh’s gas crisis enters sixth day as disrupts daily routine

KARACHI (92 News) – The residents of Karachi continued to suffer on Friday as the gas crisis entered its sixth-day. As per details, the gas crisis disrupted the daily routine of the citizens. The stoves are closed and supply of gas to CNG stations remained suspended, posing difficulties for the residents. The labours are unemployed due to non-supply of gas to the industries. The public transport owners continued their strike, leaving commuters stranded on bus stops. Rickshaw and taxi drivers are asking for excessive rates and people have no choice but to fork out the money. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) announced to strike all over the province. Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan reached in Karachi. The minister will held meetings with the industrialists, CNG and SSGC officials today. Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered that boards of directors of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and SSGCL be dissolved owing to the prevailing gas shortfall in the country. The premier gave directions for stricter action against the gas suppliers, as the CNG crisis entered its fifth-day yesterday disrupting public transport and leaving commuters in limbo.
