Six Elite Force jawans among 10 cops martyred in attack on DI Khan police station
DERA ISMAIL KHAN (92 News) - As many as 10 policemen, including six jawans of the Elite Force, were martyred in an attack on a police station in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday.
According to the police, the terrorists attacked the police station from all sides the early in the morning. They lobbed hand grenades besides opening fire on the police station. The policemen also retaliated and the gun battle continued for two hours.
A heavy contingent of police also reached the spot and launched a search operation with the help of security forces.
According to sources, all routes leading to South Waziristan and Tank have been closed.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Chief Minister Arshad Hussain Shah has strongly condemned the incident, expressing grief over the loss of precious lives.
He said that the terrorists would be chased and made an example.
