Six-member Saudi delegation arrives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – A six-member delegation of the Saudi government arrived in Islamabad for reviewing the security arrangements earlier visit of Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman on February 16. According to the details, the Saudi delegation would overview the arrangements for the Prince Salman’s two-day visit. Meanwhile, the preparations to welcome the Saudi prince are being finalised. It was reported that Pakistan’s fighting jets will guard Prince Salman’s aircraft, from the moment it will enter its airspace until it lands safely at the Noor Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi. All commercial flights across the country will remain suspended during this time. It also informed that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has also informed all the local and private airlines about this matter. “Private airlines shall fix their schedules according to the arrival timing of Prince Salman’s aircraft,” said a circular sent to the private airlines by the CAA. Prince Salman will then be shifted to the Prime Minister House in Islamabad via road amid strict security. At least 100 wardens of City Traffic Police Rawalpindi will perform duties from the base till Koral Chowk. Meanwhile, a 119-member advance Saudi team is also in Islamabad to evaluate the security arrangements in the capital. More than 700 rooms in five hotels have been booked till February 18 for the royal entourage. The advance Saudi team is also staying at one of the Islamabad’s hotels in sector F-5/1 in which 280 room have been booked for Prince Salman’s delegations.
Saudi Crown Prince to arrive in Pakistan on Feb 16
Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman will arrive in Pakistan on a two-day official visit on Saturday on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The crown prince will be accompanied by a high-powered delegation including members of the Saudi Royal family, key ministers and leading businessmen. This will be the first state-level visit of the dignitary to Pakistan since his elevation to the position of the Crown Prince in April 2017. During his visit, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman will call on the President. He will also meet the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff. A delegation of Pakistan's Senate will also call on the Crown Prince to discuss ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. The Saudi Ministers accompanying the Crown Prince will meet their counterparts to discuss bilateral cooperation in their respective fields. The businessmen of the two countries will also meet to discuss opportunities of collaboration in private sector.
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia to sign number of agreements, MoUs
During his stay, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will be signing a number of agreements and MoUs in diverse sectors, including investment, finance, power, renewable energy, internal security, media, culture and sports. The two countries will also discuss ways and means to develop a robust follow-up mechanism to ensure effective implementation and quick progress on tangible areas of cooperation.
