Six of a family die as roof of a house collapses in Lahore's Taxali Gate area

LAHORE (92 News) - At least six persons were killed and four others were injured when the roof of a house collapsed at Taxali area of Lahore on Tuesday. According to the details, the roof of a dilapidated house in Taxali collapsed and buried several people under the debris. A family came from Gujranwala to stay in Lahore, while roof incident happened in the Walled City of Lahore. A couple, three children and a teenager were killed after a roof collapsed. The house was situated near the Taxali Gate. The incident occurred after the wall of a house fell on their neighbour's roof. After getting information about the incident, rescue teams reached the spot and retrieve nine injured persons from the rubble in injured condition. Six of them including three children lost their lives while being shifted to the hospital. Five of the deceased identified as Javed, 60, his wife, four-year-old Ayyan, five-year-old, Zaigham and Hsssan,7. Three women are under treatment at the Mayo Hospital. Four women, identified as Ateeqa, Kinza, Mehwish and Hina, were injured and have been shifted to the hospital. One person, Ishtiaq, escaped unharmed. He, however, lost his three sons in the accident. On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar showing his grief over the loss of the lives has sought a detailed report from commissioner Lahore. He has directed the authorities to carry out a thorough investigation into the incident from every aspect and provide the best possible medical facilities available to the injured.
