Six-storey building collapses in Karachi’s Timber Market

KARACHI (92 News) – A six-storey dilapidated building collapsed at Timber Market in Soomra Gali Ranchor Line, Karachi on Monday. It is pertinent to mention here that it was constructed 15 years ago. A six-floor building, having 19 flats tilted down earlier in the day. Taking notice of the matter, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) officials reached the area and had sealed the building and vacated a few hours ago after it has titled. It comprised more than 50 flats. Rescue teams have reached the site and the area has been cordoned off and the gas and electricity connections to the building have been suspended. The SBCA director general said that the team immediately reached the spot after getting the news about the damage to the building’s foundation. He said inquiry has been launched into the matter.
