SJC proceedings against a judge won't stop due to his resignation or retirement, rules SC

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled that proceedings started by the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) against a judge would not stop due to his resignation or retirement.

The court ruled that the Supreme Judicial Council has the power to stop proceedings against the judge. 

Justice Aminuddin headed the five-member bench comprising of Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel, Justice Musarat Hilali, Justice Hassan Azhar and Justice Irfan Sadat Khan. The verdict was announced by 4-1. Justice Hassan Azhar dissented from the majority judgment.
