Smart lockdown imposed in Lahore's 15 areas for two weeks

LAHORE (92 News) – The authorities imposed a smart lockdown in 15 areas of Lahore for two weeks on Saturday.

The areas where the lockdown has been imposed include Allama Iqbal Town, Mustafa Town, PIA Society, Islamapura, Sandah, Shah Jamal, Gulberg Town, Atta Turk, Garden Town, D Block and Model Town.

All shopping malls and restaurants will remain closed in these areas, while the movement of the residents will be restricted. One person can use one bike or vehicle for necessary work.

There will be a complete ban on all congregations. However, all medical services, pharmacies, medical stores, laboratory collection points, hospitals and clinics will remain opened.

Shops selling milk, curd, chicken, fish and meat will be allowed to open. grocery stores, general stores, flour mills, fruit and vegetables shops, tandoors, hotels, puncture shops and petrol pumps can be opened for 24 hours.

Agricultural tools, workshops, printing press and call centres can be opened with 50 per cent staff for 24 hours. On the other hand, necessary religious rites, funeral and burial can be attended under the SOPs. Utility companies, banks, media and social welfare institutions providing basic facilities will be allowed to work.

Meanwhile, the Sindh government has shut the inter-city bus service.
