Lahore: (92 News) Declaring Lahore's air to be the most polluted in the world, the Environment Protection Department has issued a health advisory, advising citizens to take precautionary measures.

The air of the provincial capital Lahore is highly polluted, the Punjab government has advised the citizens to take precautionary measures. According to the health advisory, air quality index has increased due to wind coming from India, decrease in temperature and increase in humidity.

In view of the situation, citizens should not leave their homes unnecessarily. Mask and goggles must be worn. Limiting exercise outside the home is advised. Respiratory and cardiac patients are instructed not to exercise without consulting a physician.

The Environment Protection Department said to check the air pollution rate regularly and get a health check-up, elderly people should not leave their homes, keep the windows and doors of the houses closed and do not stay in open spaces for a long time, citizens should get their vehicles fitted immediately. Medical experts have also advised citizens to take protective measures to avoid the intensity of smog.

To remedy the smog, the Punjab government has also implemented green lockdown at various places in Lahore.
