Snowfall stops in Murree, road maintenance work is underway

MURREE (92 News) – Snowfall in Murree has stopped, road maintenance work is underway. Problems are due to slippery roads and bad vehicles.

Police, Rangers, Civil Defense, Rescue personnel and district administration are engaged in the operation. Road maintenance work is underway.

CM Punjab Usman Buzdar, who was supervising the rehabilitation operation, directed the administration to expedite the rescue operation. On the other hand, Murree Road was opened up to Nathia Gali.

According to the GDA spokesperson, the roads in Abbottabad which were closed due to snowfall could not be restored even after seven days.

The life system in Malaka Kohsar is slowly being restored. Snow has cleared on the main highways from Lower Topa to Jhikagli Road, Jhikagli to Kaldana Road, Kaldana to Barian and one-way traffic has been restored.

The process of removing vehicles stuck on the roads is underway. In most areas, power supply has been restored and there is a fear of shortage of food items due to disruption of local transport.
