Snowfall turns weather cold in different parts of country

MURREE (92 News) – Snow and rain turned the weather cold in different parts of the country.Mercury dropped in  Mansehra, Abbottabad , Azad Kashmir and Quetta. Owing to snowfall, people were restricted to their homes while several tourists were trapped.Canals swelled due to continuous rain in Upper Dir. On the other hand, Dir-Chitral Road was closed due to landsliding. Moreover, thick clouds hovered over Leepa Valley, Bagh and other areas. Owing to rain and snowfall, mercury further dropped. According to the Met Office, a western disturbance is affecting upper parts of the country. Cold has increased in various parts of the country with the fresh spell of rain and snowfall.The routine life in Quetta is paralyzed due to the snow. Quetta’s ground contact with other cities has also suspended.The plain and mountainous areas in Parachinar are also blanketed with snow.
Warmly welcome of Tourists
It was reported that the tourists are being warmly welcomed in Muree, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Azad Kashmir and necessary arrangements have been made by the concerned authorities to clear snow from the roads. The visitors, who stuck in traffic, were being given dry fruit packets and water. The city traffic police arranged hot stoves in different places for the visitors. Cool breeze and drizzle at plain areas has intensified the cold while snowfall in northern areas has turned everything white. Rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) with gusty wind is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Those tourists, who miscalculate the weather and not carry proper winter gear, rush to the garments shop for woollen wear to cover their heads and hands under the chilling temperature. Owing to snowfall, people were restricted to their homes. Snow created difficulties for local residents, especially those residing in rural areas.Roads were also blocked after snowfall blanketed the Abbottabad and Muzaffarabad.  
Food on Mall Road
On Mall Road, the aroma of tikka karhai coming from the hotels fills the air, rising appetite of passers-by. But it is not just tikka karhai, the air also has a whiff of chapli kabab, fried fish and biryani.
