Some unpleasant incidents take place in various polliong stations in KPK local bodies elections

PESHAWAR (92 News) – Many polling stations faced unpleasant situations at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local bodies elections on Sunday.

Two groups clashed over the interference of men in a women's polling station in Peshawar's Shah Alam district. In Wahid Garhi also, there are reports of missing ballot papers in women's polling stations.

At Jamrud Soor Kamar's polling station one workers of JUI rioted. There was also a commotion at Jamrud Wazir Dhand Government Middle School, protesters blocked the Pak-Afghan highway.

Gunmen stormed a polling station in Zakhakhel area of Khyber, beating election staff. Polling stations were fired upon and vandalized.

The Election Commission took notice, the Chief Election Commissioner directed the Returning Officer to investigate.

Unpleasant incidents took place at five polling stations in Bakakhel Tehsil of Bannu. According to the spokesperson of Election Commission, polling staff, security personnel were abducted and polling materials were snatched.

The Chief Election Commissioner suspended polling in Bakakhel Tehsil and formed a three-member committee to investigate.

A petition was also filed against the brother and associates of provincial minister Shah Mohammad Khan for holding polling staff hostage.

An unfortunate incident took place in Bakakhel Tehsil of Bannu during the local body elections. An emergency meeting of the Election Commission was held in the Central Control Room of Islamabad.
