ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The special meeting was summoned on Wednesday for consultations on tax amnesty scheme, however, Prime Minister Imran Khan decided to brief the reason for amnesty scheme. According to the details garnered, the federal cabinet could not decide about the tax amnesty scheme on Tuesday and decided to form a subcommittee under Finance Minister Asad Umar to review the matters. PM Imran Khan called a special meeting to review the objections of cabinet members on April17. After the cabinet meeting, talking to the journalists, Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad said the cabinet decided to further discuss Asset Declaration Scheme, and a meeting to this effect has been convened by the prime minister tomorrow. The sources said that the cabinet asked how this amnesty scheme was different from previous one. The members said how they can now defend this scheme where they were earlier criticizing the scheme. The cabinet members find it difficult to convince people about the positive results of this new amnesty scheme. They said a thorough discussion should be held on the matter. Shehbaz Sharif received $26 million through TT-based: Fawad Ch
Fawad Chaudhry alleged that Sharif family and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari looted Pakistan in the past, adding that 95 per cent assets of Sharif family were Telegraphic Transfer (TT-based).

Addressing a press conference after federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the information minister claimed that Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif received $26 million through TT messages from abroad.

Fawad Chaudhry also blamed the previous rulers, saying that Pakistan is facing crisis due to the wrong policies in the past, He assured that the money laundering cases will be taken to logical end. The minister said that former finance minister Ishaq Dar, Nawaz Sharif’s sons Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz were not appearing before courts in their cases. “MQM’s London-based founder, Ishaq Dar, Hasssan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz are Pakistan’s gifts which Islamabad wants Britain to return,” he added. The information minister said that the federal cabinet meeting expressed serious concerns over money laundering. He also informed that the cabinet failed to give approval for the amnesty scheme and it will be again discussed and summoned the special session for regarding to scheme. Cabinet decides to continue crackdown against terrorism
Fawad said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured the federal cabinet and the nation that the government’s crackdown against terrorists will continue and the menace of terrorism will soon be eliminated. The minister further said the government is fast moving on implementation of National Action Plan, and it is not far when terrorism will be eradicated from the country. He said external factors are involved in the terrorist incidents in the country, and the government is close to completely destroy that infrastructure. Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the cabinet decided to further discuss Asset Declaration Scheme, and a meeting to this effect has been convened by the prime minister tomorrow.
