Spot-fixing: Ch Nisar orders action against bookies, closures of websites promoting gambling

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Interior Minister Ch Nisar has ordered action against bookies along with the players.

The decision was made during a high-level meeting on Monday.

The minister also put the names of Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Nasir Jamshed, Shahzeb Hassan Khan and Muhammad Irfan on the exit control list.

The FIA officials told the minister that Khalid Latif and Muhammad Irfan had recorded their statements, while other players will record their statements on Tuesday.

Ch Nisar has ordered the PTA officials to shut all the websites promoting gambling so that this heinous crime could be controlled.

He directed the FIA to launch transparent and impartial probe into the spot-fixing issue so that the culprits defaming Pakistan should be brought to justice and case be taken to logical conclusion.

The minister said that the zero-tolerance policy should be adopted over the issue.
