Spot-fixing scandal: Shahzeb, Irfan summoned for questioning

LAHORE (92 News) – Shahzeb Hassan and Muhammad Irfan have been summoned for investigations into the Pakistan Super League spot-fixing scandal. The PCB Anti-Corruption Unit put questions to both players about the Dubai incident. Meanwhile, the FIA has presented the preliminary report on the fixing case to Interior Minister Ch Nisar. Ch Nisar has ordered fair and impartial investigations into the incident. “It is not a matter of corruption of cricketers, but defamation of cricketers,” he said. In the report, it has been disclosed that messages have been removed from the mobile phones of the players. The report pointed out main points with regard to stop match-fixing and involvement of players in the illegal activity. According to the report, the players’ links with bookies and matters settled between them were being reviewed. The responsible people will be determined in the light of forensic review of the information provided by the PCB and evidences.
