Spying for Israel: Qatar court hands down death penalty for 8 former Indians navy personnel

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - A Qatar court has announced the death penalty for eight Indians navy personnel arrested in the country last year on the charge of spying for Israel.

"We are deeply shocked by the verdict," the statement by the Indian government on Thursday, adding that India is exploring all legal options in this regard.

Neither the Indian nor Qatari government has officially said what the eight men were charged with.
