KARACHI (92 News) – The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has filed an application with the Sindh High Court (SHC), seeking an amendment to the stay order due to the law and order issue.

Owing to the lack of interest, the federal government, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and the Council for Common Interests (CCI) have not submitted a reply in this regard.

Assistant Attorney General Bilal Khilji, counsel for the SSGC, said that they have no gas and provision of gas to domestic consumers is their first priority.

He said that non-provision of gas to domestic consumers creates law and order situation.

Bilal Khilji contended that the court had stopped the company from disconnecting the applicants.

The counsel for the applicants said that it was against the constitution to disconnect the gas supply. "According to the court verdicts and the constitution, the provinces producing gas will be given priority for providing gas. Currently Sindh is producing 72 percent," he contended.
