ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to PTI chairman Imran Khan, ordering him to appear before court in person on August 31.

A three-member bench comprising of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Mian Gull Hassan and Justice Babar Sattar heard the plea.

The advocate general told court that Magistrate Zeba Chaudhary had heard the case of Shahbaz Gill and she had again remanded in the police custody. "The sequence of issuing statements against the institutions should come to an end. Imran Khan has tried to pressurize the judiciary through his statement and create a hurdle in justice," he added.

He contended that the case seems to be of show-cause notice.

Justice Mohsin Kiyani remarked that the statement had been given against the judge who is hearing several cases. "Speeches will be made against the courts giving verdict against someone," he observed.

He remarked that such statement from a leader who remained the prime minister was not expected.

Meanwhile, the court referred the matter to the chief justice for formation of a bench comprising of more than three benches.
