Statement regarding rejection of SC's bench is tantamount to rebellion: PTI

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has termed the statement regarding rejection of the Supreme Court larger bench tantamount to rebellion.

In a tweet on Thursday, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary said that any government cannot demand the bench of its choice. "The government is in trouble due to the eight-member bench. The chief justice could formed a two-member bench if he wished," he maintained.

He said that the constitution binds the government to implement the Supreme Court judgements. "No strike was observed anywhere on the call of Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar," he added.

PTI leader Hammad Azhar said that the lawyers had rejected the strike at the behest of Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar. "Every citizen is standing with the chief justice and the constitution," he maintained.
