The protesters demanded the safety of Kashmiri traders and students who are being harassed outside the Occupied Valley. Meanwhile, members of Jammu and Kashmir Awami Ittehad Party held a sit-in protest at Press Enclave in Srinagar against the attacks on Kashmiri Muslims in Jammu and India. The protesters were holding banners and placards that read “Stop targeting Kashmiri people living in India”, “Give protection to Kashmiri people in Jammu”, “Solve Kashmir dispute through self-determination” and “Don’t celebrate killings”. A couple of days ago, Hindu fanatics wrecked havoc in Janipur area of Jammu city, instilling fear among the Kashmiri employees who are residing in the government quarters. The employees said that the police had done absolutely nothing to stop the Hindu arsonists who kept pelting stones on Kashmiri vehicles, residential quarters and pedestrians in Janipur colony. Instead, the employees said, the SSP Jammu reached the spot and asked them to stay indoors rather than acting against the arsonists. They said that the right-wing extremists also circled the residential colony and raised provocative slogans to incite trouble.
