Student drowns in school’s swimming pool in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – An 11-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool of a private school on Tuesday. The boy’s father told 92 News that Usman, a student of Class 6, had to take the swimming class and all people are present on the day of the class. “The incident occurred at 2pm, but I was informed at 4pm,” he said. He accused the administration of negligence. Meanwhile, Docks police have registered a case (331/2019) on the complaint of the father of the deceased. The case has been registered under section 322 of the PPC. The police have arrested swimming instructors Akbar and Saifullah. Further investigations are underway. The additional police surgeon confirmed that the boy had died due to filing of water in his lungs. On the other hand, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the death of the boy sought a detailed report from the authorities concerned. He ordered the Director Schools to prepare a report after looking into all aspects of the incidents.
