Students take MDCAT under strict security across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (92News) - The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is being held by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) in 30 cities across Pakistan and at two international centres in Riyadh and Dubai.

More than 167,000 students have appeared in the exam during which modern surveillance technology is being used to monitor examination centres and prevent misconduct. Section 144 was also enforced around examination centres.

Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University established 33 centres, University of Health Sciences 26 centres, Khyber Medical University 13 centres, and Dow University of Health Sciences established six examination centers.

As many as 58,380 students in Punjab, 38,678 students in Sindh, 42,329 students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and 5,806 students in Balochistan have appeared in the MDCAT.

Similarly, at least 18,408 students in Islamabad, 3,145 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 739 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and 259 international students have taken the exam.

PMDC President Prof Dr Rizwan Taj said only the most qualified and deserving candidates will be selected for medical and dental education in Pakistan.
