Sugar price increases by Rs30 per kg to Rs200 per kg in a week

LAHORE (92 News) - The sugar price has increased by Rs30 per kg to Rs200 per kg in week.

In Karachi, the wholesale and retail price of sugar has been fixed at Rs178 and Rs185 per kg respectively. In Rawalpindi, it is being sold at Rs190 per kg, while its price in Abbottabad is Rs200kg.

In Multan, sugar which was available at Rs120 per kg a week ago has reached Rs180 per kg.

In Faisalabad, it is being sold at Rs185 per kg, while its rate in Peshawar is Rs190 per kg after an increase of Rs40 per kg.

The Food Ministry authorities have termed the increase in the sugar price as artificial. They said that smuggling and hoarding are the main reasons behind the hefty increase in the sugar rate.
