LAHORE (92 News) - Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey Tournament started on Sunday in IPOH, Malaysia without one of the most dominant team of the event – Pakistan. The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) failed to prepare, send national team for the Tournament due to financial constraints. However, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid said that Rs 1 billion had been given to the PHF in last few years. PHF president announced to set up a four-member accountability committee to audit Rs 1 billion funds. Since Tournament’s start in 1983, Pakistan dominated the event for several years. Pakistan has won three Tournament titles in 1998, 2000 and 2003 and ended six times runner-up in 1983, 1987, 1991, 1994, 2004 and 2011.
