ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Justice Qazi Faez Isa of the Supreme Court has said that only the Supreme Court, not a single entity, has power to use the Article 184(3).

Expressing his views in the seminar, titled 'Pakistan Constitution – A Symbol of National Unity' on Wednesday, he said that the clause of suo motu has been introduced for the oppressed. "The term of suo motu has not been used in the Constitution and this clause cannot be used to benefit to some 'favourite'. Only the chief justice can use the suo motu, but the constitution does not state this. If the constitution tells about it, then mention the clause," he added.

He said that the wrong judgement will remain wrong even if it is of the majority. "Pakistan was broken due to wrong judicial decision. Justice Munir sowed its venomous seed. In 1977, a man was imposed on the country and PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was hanged. Dictators made amendments to the constitution to give protection to the dictators," he maintained.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that a government employee took over the country and imposed an emergency.
