ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday has issued a notice to the federal government in the PTI leader Shahbaz Gill’s torture plea.

A three-member special bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan, heard the appeals against the physical remand of Shahbaz Gill. During the hearing, Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi raised several objections to the case and inquired whether the police should have recovered the language from Shahbaz Gill to which he spoke? “The recovery that was made from Shahbaz Gill has nothing to do with the case. Who has stopped Shahbaz Gill from filing an application on the relevant forum? Shahbaz Gul has to approach the relevant forum against violence”.

Justice Jamal Mandokhail raised a question and said that was no one tortured by the police in the PTI government? To this, Shahbaz Gill's lawyer Salman Safdar said that incidents of police violence rarely come to light. The most controversial remand in the country's history was given to Shahbaz Gill.

Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi said that Shahbaz Gill did not give a speech but gave a TV interview. “You did not prepare the case at all. You do not know the procedure and purpose of giving physical remand. The judge wrote in the order that there are marks of torture on Shahbaz Gill's body. Will the judge also appear as a witness in the case of torture?”

Justice Mazhar Naqvi lashed out at lawyer of Shahbaz Gill and said that the magistrate is the guarantor of the prisoner's rights, you don't even know that much.

The court adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
