April 6, 2015
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The formation of the judicial commission to probe the rigging charges has been challenged in the Supreme Court on Monday. Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) senior member Barrister Zafarullah Khan, in a petition, stated that the ordinance promulgated for the establishment of the judicial commission is unconstitutional and illegal. He said that the judicial commission has no right to probe the eligibility of parliamentarians and rigging charges. He called for immediate withdrawal of the judicial commission ordinance. The petitioner has made the federal government, the chief election commissioner, the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and former caretaker chief minister Najam Sethi as party in the petition.
